Legos and Play-doh are 2 Classic Toys Your Kids Need to know about

As the holidays inch closer, so does your time to buy toys. Do you want to wait in line at Toys R us for a Wii? Do you want to deal with the short aisles and packed parking lots of Target? Or do you just plan on waiting until the last minute not knowing what to buy the 3-4 year old child of yours, your friend or your family member? Well this dad’s advice is to keep it simple!

2 classic toys that will stand the test of time and no doubt bring joy to your child for many hours are Legos LEGO Ultimate Building Set – 405 Pieces
and Playdoh. Play-Doh 24 Pack of Colors

Legos and Playdoh rock! By the age of 4 your child should be able to use legos and playdoh without swallowing them. My kids were using Playdoh at 2-2.5 and I waited to introduce Legos until 3 because of the small parts. Age is really a judgement call on how developed your child is to know not to eat or swallow the toys.

Legos and Playdoh have been around forever and the newest versions are vastly improved and more exciting than the ones we had when we were children. Legos and Playdoh have become quite innovative and they have licensed the rights to many big properties like Star Wars, Batman, Barbie and much much more.

Why Playdoh?
It is an amazing texture that allows children to develop hand eye coordination, imagination and the ability to create anything they want to out of a clay like substance. It’s safe and easy to use and has a bad rap for being messy but in a small controlled area like a table, it surely is not. Playdoh’s playsets are very diverse and offer a vast line from make believe food to toy properties to chose from. Playdoh also has a really nice price point and you get a lot of bang for your “dough”.

Why Legos?
They are the first toy a child can build architecural and structural formations with that feel real and offer a huge sense of accomplishment while also expanding and challenging the imagination. Lego playests are incredible these days and the vast properties span every gamut.

I highly suggest these toys for your kids. I also highly suggest you interact with them and build something fun too.
